We are very excited to be opening our first ever Tulip Fest! We have planted rows and rows of beautiful tulips on our family farm for visitors to enjoy, in fact, we put in over 350,000 bulbs in the ground this past fall on 4 acres! We offer a unique experience for visitors to come enjoy being surrounded by tulips, take in their beauty and capture beautiful moments among the flowers! This is the only one of it's kind in the Grey-Bruce area!
This is a GUIDE-ish - meaning it could fluctuate a couple of days as mother nature works her hand at turning green buds into colourful splendour.
May 10,11, 12: We open on the 10th and expect to have 25-40% of our tulips blooming. This is best for picking tulips as they last longer in your vase at home when they're picked slightly before opening (but not green). There will be sections of the field that are blooming, while others are still in buds.
May 13-18: expect to see the most vibrant tulips, exceptional for pictures as 50-80% are bloomed.
May 19th-closing: Overbloom: All tulips will have either bloomed or are in bloom. Tulips that are on their way out still have a lot of colour and will show up nicely for pictures.
A. In our area tulips typically bloom early May for 2-3 weeks. As this is dependent on mother nature, please check our social media and website for updates.
A. During blooming season we are open from 10am-7pm, last entry at 6pm. When you purchase a ticket, that is your arrival time. You are allowed to stay as long as you like until closing. Most people spend around an hour at the field.
A. Dogs are NOT permitted on the farm during tulip season, service dogs are allowed.
A. There are paths between all of the rows where visitors can walk to get close to the tulips to admire their beauty and take photos. Please stay on the paths to avoid damaging the tulips.
A. Yes the main paths are suited for mobility devices. Please keep in mind it is still a field and there may be some weeds, ruts, or other challenges along the way. Also note that the paths will be more packed down further into the season due to foot traffic.
A. Our sandy soil holds up well in rain, it doesn't get muddy the way a loam field would. Please wear appropriate footwear. (Avoiding white shoes would be a good idea!)
A. Come dressed for the elements as this is a rain or shine event. Also wear appropriate footwear to be walking in a field. You may want rubber boots if we've had a lot of rain. While our field holds up well in the rain, it can get quite dusty in dry weather. White shoes and sandals are not recommended.
A. Tickets are required to enter the field and need to be purchased in advance. This allows us to monitor capacity and plan staffing.
A. Yes you are! There is a self serve feature, instructions can be found here
A. There are porta potties available for our visitors to use.
A. We do not have any food available for purchase on site.
